This project’s main intent was to respond to the urban context and take influence from contextual lines to ultimately shape forms, lines and details of the new art gallery. These lines create contrasting architectural languages that are meant to create tension between them. These languages are in and of themselves meant to represent the art contained within them, and create an architectural experience that maximizes the experience of the art. The most important space is the middle space, the atrium. Here the goal is to use an illuminated space for circulation, allowing people to have a unique experience between one art gallery and another, using architecture to create and separate contrasting experiences.
